Deer Head Canvas Video by Katie Lamb

Hello again Crafters

Am I allowed to say this - only 34 days until Christmas - eeek!!

Where has this year gone, seems like yesterday I was complaining about the heat in summer:)

Katie started making her Christmas Cards ages ago, very organised and tonight she is making us a Christmas hanger, using your favourite Christmas resin piece the deer head. ( I have restocked them loads of times for you:)

Its full of texture and I like the way Katie uses lolly sticks glued together to make a surface and also using a gel medium to stick embossing paste too.

Click on the link below to watch, all our products are linked at the bottom of the blog.

Thanks Katie :)

Stay Simple with Reniferove

Welcome

Today I have prepared something simple for you, but even simple projects can be very effective.

In the project, I used the fantastic resin castings from AD, created compositions from them on an MDF plate and covered with black gesso.

To give colour I reached for Prima waxes in various colours.

I decided on the shades of red, copper and gold, and to make the project more interesting I added a bit of green.

Thanks Reniferove

It's a Christmas Door by Teresa Morgan.

Evening Crafter's

We recently added Christmas products to the website, including some Christmas resins, the one Teresa is using today is amongst one of my favourites. I don't know what it is about stags & reindeer, but I absolutely love them used in mixed media, paintings, home decor you name it.
So when I saw this project from Teresa I instantly fell in love, the icy colours, the sand which looks like snow and of course the deer head on the wreath.

Lets see how its been created :)

All the products used are linked at the bottom of the page.

Start by cutting four rectangles from grey board and attach to the MDF plaque to look like the panels of a door.
Coat with gesso.

Apply a coat of metallic paint to the 'door' and allow to dry before adding a coat of Weathered Wood crackle medium.

Once this has dried apply the pale blue paint and allow to dry naturally to a crackle finish.

Add highlights of silver gilding polish to the edges of the door and panels.

Paint the chipboard wreath green - this will form the base to the moss wreath.

Paint the resin deer head using the lighter shade and once dry apply a wash of the darker shade to highlight the detail.

Use gel medium to attach the chipboard wreath to the door and add small pieces of moss to it.

Glue the deer head in the centre and add a ribbon bow.

 Finish with Sparkle Spheres.

Add white and silver sand to represent snow on the wreath, deer, and edges of the door and base.

Thanks Teresa

The Emerald Wing by Katie Lamb

Hello wonderful crafter's

We have another stunning project to share, I am using the royal "we", I didn't lift a finger lol:)

The  canvas Katie has created is not short on texture and details. You know when the team send me their projects its fun to spot the products we sell to see how they have been used, and I love how Katie has layered the MDF large wheel and small roman clock, and can you spot the zip?

The multi-tonal greens work so well together because of the way they have been blended together when Katie has applied them

All the products used on this project are linked at the end of the blog.

Take a blank canvas,Jules is now selling a variety of sizes on the website, and glue down your wooden shapes, zip and cogs.

Once you have added all the pieces, give the whole canvas a couple coats of black gesso. This is so the lustre will stand out so much more later.

Paint the pair of large resin wings in black gesso and glue in place on the canvas.

Paint everything with light green metallic lustre and then dry brush with dark green metallic lustre.

Using the Prima heavy gel medium add to different areas on the canvas and sprinkle on the  Pearl Art balls, poly balls and glass glitter.

Add in a few green dew drops too.

Use the large steampunk key to finish the canvas.

Thanks Katie :)

Cherished Copper Canvas Video by Pryia Mishra

Hello Crafter's

Super excited to be bringing you another You Tube video, and this time its from the lovely Priya. The canvas created is stunning, and that's just from the pictures, I will get to watch the video tonight as well, and I really can't wait. The colours are just fabulous, as is the arrangement.

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have a video tutorial to share with you all.
I have used a lot of resin embellishments from Artful Days and I must tell you they are brilliant pieces. I also used an AD stencil, a list of everything is at the end of the blog.

You can check out the video to know how I made this
and some close up pictures below

Thanks Priya

Burgundy Heart by Reniferove

Hello Crafter's

Do you have colours which you never use, you might not like them or they are out of your comfort zone..... I had a sticking point with purple, but then for some reason I choose it for a online project and now its something I use much more often.

But what if you need to tackle a project with a colour you don't like for a gift for someone very special.... Well Reniferove had this same problem, but what she has created is simply stunning, you can see the comfort with the colour

All the products used on this project are linked at the end of the blog

Today's design was a great challenge for me, because burgundy colour is not my favourite and I rarely use it.

However, this box is a gift for an exceptional person who loves burgundy.

What should I do? I stood up to the task and came out with something dark, a bit romantic in this bloody colour.

I started by painting the surface with a white gesso from Finnabair, and then I applied an acrylic paint in burgundy.

I darkened the edges with the black gesso and started arranging the composition.

I used resin castings, metal wing and flower and some art stones to fill the space.

The whole was painted with Sparks Raven Black and Red Wine.

Thanks Reniferove
